Jewelry

You will notice that with almost no exception, all the materials used in my jewelry are the real thing. Solid sterling silver, genuine rubies, garnets, amethyst, emeralds, actual skulls.

Scrimshaw Pendant

Height: 1 3/8" from the top. This legal elephant ivory (genuine) has been hand-scrimmed by yours truly in a pattern inspired by a couple of Celtic drawings, then framed up in solid sterling silver. Invisibly signed on the back (you have to ink it if you really want to see it). Yes, I can do custom work on this scale, email me for a quote.

Human Finger Earrings

This is the real deal here, folks—first through third row phalanges of the human hand, lovely antique patina, articulated in silver for your supreme fashion pleasure. I can be convinced to make them in gold or anodized aluminum or whatever your specialized need may be. Otherwise, I'll just make them in sterling silver and put them up when I get around to it.

Hair Sticks

Black bone, metal, and sterling decorative hairpieces. 4.5" average length (black part), and the dangles, well, dangle freely from the spiral. Ankh or cross.

Bullet Earrings with Sterling and Garnet

My favourite everyday earring, three in my left ear look very very. The bullet is silver plate, the rest is solid sterling plus the cab-cut garnet.

Sterling, Ruby, and Natural Bone Bat Skull Earring with Ankh

A very nice earring, and wears extremely well. Solid sterling and ruby, featuring a genuine bat skull with an ankh.

Sterling, Emerald, and Natural Bone Bat Skull Earring with Ankh

Real bat skull wired with solid sterling silver, with an emerald cabochon plus an ankh dangly bit. For those of us with green eyes (or who wear green).

Jerboa Rat

Painted ceramic; jade; glass marbles (under the hooves).

All jerboa rats wear jade earrings, right? Don’t tell me they don’t all come with glass marbles under their hooves, too! Sigh. When will I ever get this right.

Things in Jars

The Holy Fish Shrine

Wood, stain, nail polish, pins, silver, wax, ceramic etc.

(2002)
Thank you, Jessica Woomie.

The fish is also a wearable pin.

Beautifully preserved little beasties living suspended in jars. Each is sealed with black wax (partly beeswax, mmmmm) and embossed with an eye of Horus traced with gold powder…what’s not to like? The liquid they are suspended in is called Carosafe and is a non-smelly version of formaldehyde without all the toxic properties. Please refrain from cracking one open and taking a swig, however. If you have some sort of problem with putting innocent little creatures into jars forever, feel free to email me your oh-so-original and righteous wee rants, and I’ll tell you where I got them. So there.

Bat: Very delicate webbed wings and darling crumpled faces. You would punch a nun to get them! You’d suck the blood out of a wounded puppy! (apologies to J)

Mouse: Most are tinted blush, naturally. Why ask why? Little perfect eyes and teeth and ears, and tiny clawed feet. So cute! So dead!
